About Me

I'm a 29 year old married new mother of one.  My son was born healthy on March 15, 2010.

I consider myself to be a very lucky new mommy.  The pregnancy was uncomplicated, labor and delivery lasted only 12 hours, and my baby boy came out strong and hale.  My husband is attentive and supportive, and we have had a lot of family support and help in the first few weeks.

Nevertheless, this mommyhood stuff is hard and I have pretty much no clue how to go about most of it.  So I'm learning.  I'm looking to my husband, our families, the internet, friends, and naturally my Little Man for help and tips.

I guess if I were to put a label onto our parenting philosophy it would be Attachment Parenting.  I breastfeed, we co-sleep, we wear the baby (or hold him) as long as he's awake and pretty often when he's asleep.  In short, we try to figure out and meet our Little Man's needs as soon as possible.  My husband and I believe that the more time our Little Man stays calm and alert the more he'll be able to learn and that's his most important job right now.

We're somewhat non-traditional in the sense that I'm the breadwinner and my husband will be in charge of most of the day-time child care.

Some of the things I'm planning to cover in this blog are: breastfeeding, co-sleeping, cloth diapering, crafting and sewing, Mommy Guilt, working moms, stay-at-home dads, time management, and whatever else happens to come up along the way.  I'll try to pass on information that was useful for me in the hopes that someone else might find it useful, too.
